Terms of Service
These Terms of Service govern your use of PassengerPool. By using the platform, you agree to these terms.
Nature of Service
- PassengerPool is a technology platform that helps verified users discover, offer, and request shared rides and carpooling opportunities.
- PassengerPool is not a taxi company, transport company, public transport operator, travel agency, or employer of drivers.
- Drivers are independent users who may share empty seats during trips they already intend to make.
- The platform is intended for cost-sharing and community commuting, not unlicensed commercial transport.
Beta Version Disclaimer
- PassengerPool is currently in beta.
- Features may change, break, be removed, or be improved.

Verification / KYC
- PassengerPool may require CNIC, selfie, phone verification, emergency contact, driving license, and vehicle verification.
- Submission does not guarantee approval.
- PassengerPool may approve, reject, suspend, or request resubmission.
- Verification improves trust but does not guarantee that any user is completely safe.
- Users must still exercise personal judgment and caution.
- Misuse, forged documents, false information, or suspicious behavior may lead to suspension or reporting to authorities.
Ride Rules
All users must:
- Be respectful and lawful
- Only offer rides they genuinely intend to take
- Not misrepresent route, timing, vehicle, price, or identity
- Not carry illegal items
- Not harass, threaten, abuse, or discriminate
- Not ask for unreasonable payments outside agreed cost-sharing terms
- Not use the platform for criminal, fraudulent, or unsafe activity
- Select pickup and drop-off locations using the verified map search — locations must be confirmed by Google Maps and may not be entered as free text only
- Choose publicly accessible locations for pickup and drop-off
Drivers must:
- Have a valid license
- Follow traffic laws
- Drive safely
- Not overload the vehicle
- Not allow unverified third parties to replace them
- Not change route unfairly without agreement
- Not operate under the influence of drugs or alcohol
Passengers must:
- Arrive on time
- Respect the driver and other passengers
- Not damage the vehicle
- Not bring prohibited or dangerous items
- Not share another person's seat without approval
- Not misuse driver contact information
Location Verification
PassengerPool uses automated location safety checks to protect users from being directed to unsafe or suspicious places.
- All pickup and drop-off locations must be selected from Google Maps verified suggestions. Addresses typed manually without map confirmation are not accepted.
- Locations are checked against an allowlist of safe place types. Industrial zones, remote land areas, and unclassified locations are blocked automatically.
- Location names are checked for suspicious or high-risk terms such as abandoned, isolated, or remote. Locations matching these terms are rejected.
- The road distance from the chosen location to the nearest route endpoint must not exceed 5 km. This prevents users from being routed to places far off the planned route.
- These checks are automated. PassengerPool does not guarantee that every approved location is safe. Users must still exercise their own judgment.
- If a legitimate location is incorrectly blocked, users may contact support to report it.
Payments / Cost Sharing
PassengerPool automatically calculates a transparent cost-sharing fare for every route. The fare is not set by the driver — it is computed by the platform from distance, fuel price, a small wear-and-tear allowance, and any toll on the route.
- The total trip cost — fuel, wear-and-tear allowance, and toll — is split equally among everyone in the car, including the driver. The driver is not exempt from cost sharing.
- When a driver creates a route offering 4 seats, the total is divided by 5 (driver + 4 passengers). Fewer confirmed passengers means each person's share is proportionally higher until all seats fill.
- The fare shown on a route listing is the lowest possible per-person amount — what each person pays when every seat is taken. Until all seats fill, the live per-head share is recalculated automatically.
- Drivers in auto fare mode cannot override the calculated fare. In flexible fare mode, drivers may adjust from the suggested amount, and any change is visible to passengers before they request a seat.
- During beta, no real money moves through PassengerPool. PassengerPool does not process, collect, hold, or transfer any funds.
- Actual payment is settled directly between the driver and passenger — for example in cash — at the agreed per-seat amount.
- PassengerPool provides an in-app honour-based payment confirmation tool: the passenger can mark the agreed fare as paid and the driver can confirm it was received. This is a shared record of what users state happened and is not a receipt, proof of payment, or a money transfer by PassengerPool.
- Because no funds pass through the platform during beta, PassengerPool is not responsible for cash disputes, non-payment, overpayment, or amounts paid outside the equal cost-sharing terms.
- Users must not charge or pay more than the fare calculated and displayed by the platform. Overcharging is a violation of these terms.
- A real in-app payment gateway, platform fees, commissions, or subscriptions may be introduced in the future, and additional payment terms may apply at that time.
Cancellations and No-Shows
- Users should cancel as early as possible.
- Repeated no-shows may reduce trust score or lead to account restrictions.
- PassengerPool may introduce cancellation policies later.
Safety Disclaimer
- PassengerPool uses verification, reporting, automated location safety checks, and safety tools to reduce risk.
- PassengerPool cannot guarantee complete safety.
- Automated location checks reduce exposure to risky meeting points but do not eliminate all risk. Users must still exercise personal caution.
- Users are responsible for making informed decisions.
- Users should share ride details with family or friends.
- In emergencies, users should contact local emergency services or police first.
- PassengerPool may cooperate with authorities where legally required.
